This week we are continuing with the Inspiring Blog Posts. This series is my favourite to write as they really show how you can change a room by adding or changing a few things around.
This post explains some different ideas for keeping all your items together beside your bed. We have included some essentials too, what we deem to be most important to have near you in the middle of the night.

I don't regularly see circlular tables used as a side table in the bedroom, typically rectangular ones are used as they can easily be pushed in towards the wall. This bedroom has a very shabby chic style which we love. It all works so well together as the furniture is all of a similar colour scheme. The table really helps to pick out the lighter cream colour in the rug and the darker grey colour in the worn areas of the table which matches the dark colour in the rug. The two bottom shelves are made out netting or woven fabric which gives the piece a very french feel. However a touch of glamour is added by using a mirror for the top of the table. The two shelves have the perfect amount of space to keep some books to read at night. The similar style frame on the top of the nightstand really helps to pull it all together and the bright flowers give a pop of colour and help to liven the room up.
Boxes and baskets are the best storage items as they allow you hide your items and the room is still left looking tidy and organised. There are thousands of boxes and baskets to choose from so many different places. We like the choice of plain basket in this image as the room already has patterns incorporated through the pillows. The woven effect they have adds texture and a natural feeling to the simple room. The baskets can be used to store a variety of different things from water bottles to chargers, its a great hiding place for your necessities. The bedside table they have used is perfect for storing baskets as it has shelves with a good amount of space without it being too cramped. This table means the large lamp is the perfect size, if the table was any smaller it would look out of place.

This is the most practical bedside table and is perfect if you are pushed for space in your home. This method can also be used if you are a student. The table serves as both a bedside table for nighttime and a desk for the daytime. It's an ideal situation. The area is still kept relaxed as a footstool has been used a chair. This stops it from becoming an office area. As some footstools can be used to store items, stationery and other items can be kept inside which allows the desk to stay clean and clear. The desk doesn't have to be used for studying, it could also be used as a dressing table for getting ready for the day ahead.
Make use of Drawers
We simply can't get enough of storage space! (in any room). Having enough storage space allows everything to stay organised and tidy. This chest of drawers is a beautiful piece in the room. We love so many things about this set-up. The gold handles matching the large lamp which helps to pull everything together, the over sized frame for the small print, the vintage style vase with the beautiful flowers and the crisp white sheets contrasting with the grey pillows and walls. What is not to love?Having drawers beside your bed allows you to keep anything you need to hand and not on show. This is also a great place to store comfortable clothes such as pajamas and fuzzy socks.
Last but not least we have to include trolley storage! We love the idea of using trolleys around the home as they display items perfectly and are easy to move around when you need them. What we love about this, is the tray has a very sophisticated feel about it. This is because of the gold hardware and glass shelves. A lovely idea for trolley storage is having a 'bar' area at the bottom. This is is perfect for when you wake up in the night or in the morning and desperately need a drink. The supplies are at an arms length. Once again the flowers beside the bed add a pretty, natural look and give the room a fresh feel. The lamp fits well with the trolley as it is also glass.
Our Bedside Table Necessities
Reading is a good activity to do before bed as it helps to relax your mind. We love how this crate serves as both a bedside table and storage for magazines. Magazines are a great length to read before bed. There are so many different genres to read.
Having a good supply of light in your room is essential. Windows are a great source of light but sometimes its nice to be able to control the light and where it is directed. Having a lamp on your bedside table that you can move around is perfect, especially if you are reading at night. Don't forget some fun fairy-lights too!
Keeping hydrated is very important. Drinking water does not only quench your thirst but also helps with skin problems and helps to wash away toxins. Try to drink a glass of water every day when you wake up.
Keeping candles in your room creates a lovely warm, cozy environment for you to enjoy. We love to burn vanilla scented candles as the scent fills the room beautifully and smells wonderful.
Keep your essentials near you.
Our last tips is to keep all your essentials near by. This includes medications, beauty products, personal items, and even electrical items such as chargers. We recommend in investing in a suitable drawer organiser to keep everything to hand in the middle of the night.
