DIY Glitter Pumpkin

These pumpkins are so fun and make a beautiful statement. You can really pair them with the decor in the room you will be displaying them in and make a great addition to your Halloween decorations. This is a perfect idea if you don't want to light candles or dislike carving pumpkins. By using a plastic, paper, polystyrene or cardboard pumpkin like this which you can find in large craft stores such as Hobby-craft the pumpkin can last throughout autumn.

What you will need...

For this DIY you will need...
A pumpkin to decorate, Glitter in any colour you would like, PVA Glue or a Spray Adhesive, a Paint Brush and a Paper Plate or Tray for the PVA Glue.

1. Start with your pumpkin and remove the sticky label.

You can find pumpkins in most supermarkets around this time of year.

2. Use your paper plate to pour your glue in.

3. Cover your entire pumpkin in glue.

You can do this in stages or all at once. A useful tip is to start with the middle section of the pumpkin, then work your way out.

Step 5. GLITTER

Cover your entire pumpkin with glitter.

Step 6. (optional) Seal your glitter pumpkin with hairspray.

We found it helped to stand our pumpkin on a tin whilst we added the glitter.

Use whatever hairspray you have in the house.

The pumpkin has great juxtaposition against our scary dripping candles. See their DIY here!

If you want to really go all out you could use some glow in the dark paint for the face.
